Does anyone have the spec's on what the bolts, etc should be torqued to on the skid of a 96 600xt?
Man, was tearing into that skid a can of worms....

Ya , tight as you can
That's a great spec. I pretty much could have guessed that but I'd rather have it right if it's possible instead of binding something up.
Should I use threadlock on any of this?

Try sending daman a PM he just answered a similar question in another post.
If you can wait until tonight I can check my manual for you.
As for threadlock I believe you use the Blue type. I personally chose not use it when I installed my M-10 just so it wouldn't be a pisser when I pulled it for maintance. I've never has any issues with the bolts backing out. Just keep an eye on them for the first few rides.

I've noticed that he has a lot of the torque specs.
I don't plan on putting the threadlock in there. It will just be a maintenance PITA.

By the way Dnale, I was able to look at my sled over the weekend, before it got covered in the cold white snuff. SNOW it does exist!!!
The rear shock is mounted valve pointed down and the frt shock is mounted valve pointing to the frt. Do you want to do the rods this week?
They are forecasting more snow up north this week. I may be going up on friday again.

It looks worse than it is,,just start at one point fix it then move on to the
next one.
next one.
Caravan - Yeah, I'll probably have to head out your way sometime this week. We have a safety meeting at work on Saturday so my weekend is cut short.
Daman - I'm trying to go from back to front and polish the frame as I go but you have to take parts and pieces off to get into it very far.

Should I notice a big improvement once I get it all back together? I'll have had the shocks rebuilt (and revalved and the one re-sprung). New bushings cause they are all shot, new bearings, etc....
I sure hope I notice a difference....
