Shipping UPS to Canada WTF!!!

Has anyone here ever had to fill out all these forms in order to ship UPS to Canada? I sold a snowmobile seat to a Frenchy in Quebec and went to ship on the UPS website and they've got 3 forms to fill out with all kinds of info that I have no idea what to put in the forms because I'm not a business and they want my social security number and the Frenchy dudes too. This is more hassle than it's worth!!! :o| :o|
 
Never ever ship UPS. He will be pissed when he gets a $100 broker fee from them. Ship it USPS..1 form & he does not get the broker fee.
 
Go to your local post office, and send it US mail. It saves them on broker fees, and you for shipping costs. They will ship it, 2 forms, pretty much identical. Maxdlx
 
I shipped something UPS to Canada a few years ago that I sold on Ebay. I don't recall having the hassle you're talking about though. I know they didn't ask for a soc. sec. #. Our local UPS here is requiring photo ID now though to ship anything. They never used to require that either. Must some new "terror" deal? ;):D
 
yea i shiped my pipe to a guy and there was only one thing i had to sign but he did end up paying a 150 buck broker fee. but when i got the pipes from hime i didnt get a fee. doesnt make much sence to me.

As a Canadian, I KNOW my countryman would rather pay the Canada post brokerage fee ($5) than the UPS butt plugging he will get. Send it USPS and make sure he knows it will take at least two weeks to get through customs/Canada Post. Of course, if he needs it sooner........
 
I will never ship with UPS or next time will specifically ask to not be shipped with UPS when im receiving as I ordered a set of Mxxperf transfer rods and got a $65 shipping fee, and thats not including duty or anything!!

I've been burned before as well. Now I don't buy it unless they'll ship USPS. I ordered Nylatron bushings from Maxxperf this year, they were happy to ship it USPS when I asked on the phone. Took two weeks, but no extra large brokerage charge. Paid 5$ plus Taxes on the Value, No duty as they're made in the USA.
 
UPS to Canada

As a business, my warehousemen have had to ship to Canada for a customer and use UPS. It is a pain because of recent additions to NAFTA regs (we are a security and telephony company and they have all kinds of rules for electronics).

It's a pain, it's expensive, but works.

That said, ship USPS or Canada Post if you can.

Like the boys said.. Ship US potal service ground.. and mark gift on it, and declare the value of less then $100.00.. other wise us canadians will be pissed when we get hit with the brokerage and duty and taxes. ;)!
 
got my clutch stuff shipped through the mail from maxperformance. cost me $30 at the post office. got skis and clutch ups year before, $150 brokerage fees cause he shipped em in 2 boxes.

snail mail fine by me. its an average of 2-3 weeks cause i got my ty stuff early last week. :rocks:
