should I use different gears??

thanks for the advice Bob. Im not going to N Bay this year. I want to work out all the bugs before I start taking the 5 hour drive up there. So do you think if I can get my rpm at 8500, and with my better traction of the line that I should be able to hit top speed at 2000ft. It sounds like thats what your saying. Also If you compete in 2000ft class and want to go in a 1350ft class would you just gear down so you hit top speed sooner??

Thanks bob. You have been very helpful, and you saved me alot of money also. I dont want to bother you too much but Im very grateful that you and alot of other people at this forum have been so eager to help.
