looks like it might have been cleaned up a little. rusty rivets in the tunnel and rusty springs on the exhaust. but all in all, I would probably buy it for that price. seems fair to me

I personally own my 2000 Venture XL500, and a 77 elan 248 twin with custom pipes, no hood and carb mods. Thing is a slow beast!
My dad owns an 86 bravo trapper, which was bought new by him, a 2005 Venture TF, and sold a 99 VK540.

Gees some of you guys have many sleds ! .
I`ve sold three sleds this last year, and have owned four sleds in total, I think it`s somewhat wierd, I`m only 20 years old.
Got my first sled when I was 15:
1983 V-Max 540 with a Thundercat 1000 136" belt with huge lugs ( was big lugs back in those days, hehe). The engine was a Rotax 583 with exhaust valves, it was also piped. The sled was a wreck. The first season I broke to chains and smashed the gearbox house. The first time I repaired it with plastic padding. Not good. Oil leaked out, chain ran dry and snapped. Second time I got the house MIG welded and it then it lasted.
I was sick of the old wreck and took a little loan in the bank and bought this 1996 V-Max 600XTC.
It`s wierd. I still remember when we went to pick up this sled, I was totally high on the whole thing, good memories. I drove 300 kilometers on the sled and then it turned out that the main bushing in the primary was worn out.
At that time I went to school in a town called Narvik, 120kilometers from where I live, so I lived in a small apartment in that #"¤%"# town. I hated that town so much, you can`t imagine. Guess country side people aren`t supposed to be living in the city`s. Anyway, when I was about to kill my self and quit school and everything, I saw a brand new 2003 RX-1 in a shop, had been sitting un touched in the shop for two years, brand new.
I then sold the V-Max to a friend and helped him change the primary for a Comet.
Took a much bigger loan and bought the sled that basically made me get through that year. Gees, I have so many good and bad memories with this sled, the bad ones has to do with the money issues.
When the summer came I sold the RX-1 in order to reduce my morgage to a reasonable level. I then bought this SRX, 1/3rd of the price.
By the way, I used that old 540 as part payment in order to reduce my morgage even more. The guy needed the engine for a go cart hehe.
It was quite funny when I picked up the SRW, hehe. When we arrived in Tromsø (where the SRX seller lived) I took a look on the SRX before I opened the back of my trailer, where the V-Max wreck was, I said this to the guy: "Oh, the SRX looks OK, but it will need some washing and polishing" . When I then opened the trailer I think the guy must have thought that I was totally insane, since I first said that the SRX needed polishing and then showed him the ugliest V-Max 540 in the world.. . We got a good laugh about it afterwords.
Wellwell.
I`m sorry for writing so much, I got carried away.
Joakim.

The difference between Monty and myself is that his sleds all run, and he can actually race them.

2- 97 sx 600 & a 02 pro X440 fan Bought it for my 13 yr old & the chances of him getting to even get on it is slim to none! only has 480 miles, 136 ripsaw, usually here in Kentucky we get atleast 2 good snows to ride on but this year forget it! That is why I am trying to find some one to ride with in MI in Feb!

I dont fit my kitty cat anymore, but the step daughter drove it last year
and the Polaris Sno Traveler has a 10 hp Kohler and actually goes faster in reverse than foreward
