Sled has about 4500 miles on it and runs great. 120 psi per cylinder. As far as I know the pistons and rings have never been changed. Do most of you wait for them to go bad or do you change them at regular intervals? I know that the pistons are fairly inexpensive, but if they spec out ok, what would be wrong with just replacing the rings? Also I've read that these cylinders should not be honed, is this true? Just wanted to see what the experts say!!!! Thanks in advance for the replies!!!!!

We'll i'm far from an expert but thos sleds can go longer than that before
a rebuild,,but if you got the cash in hand replace it all.
By the way it should have more than 120psi should be around 150-155.
well at least a 600 does.

If the pistons r well within spec I would not replace them but would redplace the rings. imo

don't bother with either one if it is running fine and cylinders are balanced. 120 psi is fine on the 500. I have 6500 miles on mine, never been touched.
But if you are replacing anything, do both pistons and rings.

Yeah 120 psi is great if you I highly doubt you'll see 150 psi.
