I have a 95 Vmax 600 with a 121 x 0.5" track. It's a strong sled, clean, 3000 miles.
I'm trying to decide what to do with it:
1 - buy a used 121x1.25" track and just ride. Should be able to do this for about $200, right?
2 - use rail and tunnel extenders to fit a 136. The problem is, I can't find any tunnel extenders for a 95 vmax. They all start at '97. Rail extenders = $85, track = $200. Do tunnel extenders exist for this sled? How much? Is it necessary to extend coolant lines?
3 - find a used 136 or 141 skid somewhere. I don't know much about this option. What's the best approach: find a crashed 94 or 95 136" Vmax and swap out the whole rear-end, or install a '97+ pro-action skid, or what? If I buy a longer skid to put under it, I still need a tunnel extender don't I? If I find a salvage ST (136), is it possible to replace the whole rear-end? Will a pro-action bolt right in, or does it require new holes?
What other options are there?
I'm not looking to create some huge powder monster. I just want to make this sled a little better off the trail without breaking the bank. Any advice appreciated.
Thx.

I put a 2000 venture pro-action skid in my 94 Vmax 600 ST. It took about 6-8 hours. I just took measurements from my friends 97 venture and applied them to my machine. Did you try www.trackusa.com There should be one avaialble.

sandman - I'll check out trackusa. Are you at 136 now, or longer? Did you need to extend the tunnel? What paddles are you running? Thx.
