The sled should be right around 110" in length +/- 3". As for the weight, without gas it should weigh around 460 pounds. Once again this is not exact but should give you a close enough answer. Hope this helps
Your going to have a hellova time getting a V-max in the back of a Caravan! Maybe, just maybe, if you take the winshield off !! Good luck and welcome to the snowmobiling world!!

Thanks for the quick reply, I was able to fit a 1993 Skidoo safari 377 a couplke ofweeks ago in my regular minivan, I had to leave the hatch opened for about an hour drive, which wasn't to bad. But are yoiu sure this sled is 110 inches, cause that is almost 10 feet, and I don't think they made sleds that big.
This is not a long track...

Thanks crewcheif, damn thats a big sled, its going to stick out of the van. I think I better get a second plan going. How big of a deal will it be to take off the hood or windsheild?

Sound about right for length, dont forget, that from ski tip to the very end of the tunnel, the extra ski length is probabally throwing you off.
Taking off a windsheild is so easy and straight forward, it is really awsome!. What you have to do, is there is four little rubber straps that hold down tabs from the windsheild, just pull these off, and when you want them to go back on, just slide them over the tabs. Then in the front of the windsheild there are two little plastic screws with phillip style heads to them, just unscrew these and off comes the windsheld. It also comes off nice and clean, no fighting with it at all.
You can take one off and put another back on in under 5 minutes, it is straight forward. It is so easy that me and my buddys sometimes swap windsheilds if one is cold or just want to try a new one out.
Taking off thw windsheil will allow it to fit in the van hight wise and width, well thats a close one...., from ski edge to ski edge is around 45-46 inches..., depending on the skis.

We better make sure we meassure the right sled. What year is the one you're buying/picking up ???
39" high at the handlebars with the windy removed.
Windy comes off with four rubber o-ring type things and two PLASTIC screws(97 and newer Vmax ie. pro-action chassis). The rubber o-ring things are accessible when the hood is open, the screws are on the out side just above the headlight. You won't gain anything by removing the hood unless you take the bars off or roll them down. The hood isn't too bad to remove but it really should be a two person job to put back on. Options: 1) U-haul, or maybe some other place, rents open utility type trailers still (I think) could be messy, but if you hose the sled down when you get back it should be fine. 2) Find somebody with a pickup that wants to go on a roadtrip and pay him/her for gas plus $$$ 3) Do the same as 2 but with a trailer. 4) Wait for the next ice age and drive it back
(I know, I know)

Alrighty then!
The Yamaha VMAX 600 1995 is on my lot at home. (13 hour trip)
This is the first time I've seen this sled, it looks great.
And thanks for the information you gave me. If I would of gone with the van, it would of been a waisted trip. I'd have to remove the handle bars to get it in. And it still would stick out of the tailgate.
We had a bad storm coming back from Toronto and the funny thing was my son, who came along for the ride, said "how Ironic it is that in this snowstorm, a pickup truck is transporting a sled". Too bad .
Ok now for the fun stuff, what should I be doing to this sled, it has been in storage for a year and the previous owner put oil in the cylinders, and man does it smoke.

Let it smoke. Clean the carbs for sure!!! Grease all the suspension fittings. Check the bogey wheel bearings for play. Grease the front suspension too... and the steering.

i put my sled in the back of my 92 explorer befor. that was an exciting 10 min rid up to my buddies. had to loosen teh bars and lay tehm flat and take the windsheild off. if i had one of thoes little ract things for teh drop hitch i would ahve been fine but i had to drive and hold on to teh rear bumper pushing it down cuase every little bump the sled would tetertoughter and teh skies would slam the road and throw sparks, my buddy behind me was tellin me.
