Power Valve Repair

Anyone have a power valve from either a SRX or Viper, that's damaged from the cable pulling out from the slot in valve? I had 3 valves do this to me. I stopped running the Yamaha oil and switched to AmsOil Intercepter 100% Synthetic. If anyone has a bad valve, you can send it to me and I can repair it for you. Don't pay the $80 plus dollars for a new one when I can repair it for you for $45. I'm a CNC machinist and have repaired my own. Please let me know if interested. Thanks.

Can you post some before and after pics???
 
Yeah!!! If you post some pics of before and after,that might help ya out a little bit.People could see your work.
 
I don't have a digital camera or any valves right now to even take pics of. I'm the head machinist for a company that manufactures pipe and tube benders and pipe and tube notchers. West Coast Choppers, Monster Garage, Big, Monster Nation, Build or Bust, and Orange County Choppers all use the machines that I make parts for. I will guarantee my work. If you are unsatisfied with my work, I will gladly refund your money.
 
this may sound dumb..& im sure you can do it without a problem,but im assuming you have money considering what you do.so my question is why dont you have a camera??
 
Hey daman! I see you have a 1998 XTC 600. That was my first snowmobile I ever bought. I had it for 1 year and then decided I wanted more power. So I sold it to my dad and bought a 1999 SRX 700. Never had more problems with snowmobile in my life. The XTC never broke. Has around 5550 miles on it and is still ticking. The SRX I sold last year after owning it for 3 years. This year I bought a REV 600 HO. I still like Yamaha though. Wouldn't mind getting a Viper and modding it out. Also, wouldn't mind getting an Apex GT w/supercharger.
 
Why don't I have a digital camera. To me they are expensive. I know you're probably thinking how can you say expensive. Well, I wouldn't use it enough, and would rather put it towards and Digatron unit for my sled, or chrome rims for my R1, or towards a dirt bike. Just fixed 3 for my friend at the end of last season. I asked him the other day if any broke and he said no. They're still OK.
 
i hear yeah there. i bought 1 for $20.00 at wal-mart,nothing fancy didnt even have a screen on the back to see the pictures you took...then around christmas i found a good deal for a kodak with the printer dock at sears & everything for it for @$220..just thoguht i would let you know wal-mart has a few stlys for a little of nothing.also i wish i would have know about you last year.
 
You said you wish you would have heard of me last year. You probably wipped out a few valves I take it. If you have valves that need repair, let me know. I can have them back in the mail, the day after I recieve them. Also, I shave heads, if you're interested.

Yup...shes a damn good sled,only 2,200 miles on it mint shape, i'm real
happy with it, totally went through the skid when i first got it replaced
a few things cleand and greased it good,,rides out very nice,Love that
pro action skid!!! it'a all stock getting 12-13mpg and fast enough for me. ;)!
 
If anyone in northern Michigan needs a power valve repair I did mine last year. I can machine a steel insert with the slot for the cable and install. Works very well. I bet I could just make the inserts and send them to you. Then you could remove (cut or grind) the cable end off and drill out to the size then a small hole sideways for a roll pin yourselves. These would be pretty cheap. Let me know. Could even heat treat them for racing, LOL.

Hey cwcsrx700. My friend has done what you are talking about. The only problem is then the soft aluminum valve no longer becomes the weakest link. Now its the thin steel cable. Friend broke 2 cables. Once valve becomes sticky the servo motor (which is tough as nails:) pulls on cable to open valve and the end of steel cable is in contact with steel insert. Of course the steel insert won't give or pull out of valve, so the thin steel cable breaks. But with having a valve without a steel insert, the steel end of cable can sink into or pull out (if valve is stuck bad) of soft aluminum valve and the cable is still good. Either way something breaks I guess, so its a horse a piece.
