98 Srx clutching problems

I have a 98 MSRX my clutch engagement is 4000 rpms with the top rpms only at 7500....I have the 700 engine, gutted airbox, hauck stingers, cold air intake and 136X1.5 track...i have the www primary spring with 8DN-00 wieghts. I have the L cam with silver secondary spring...all these parts are from the hauck #4 clutch kit...secondary set to 6-1...my problem is i can't get my rpms any higher...i have tried setting the secondary to just about every possible position with still the same result...only up to 7500 i have also tried changing the spring to a factory and hauck red and 47 and hauck X cam...last year this sled would pull to 8300 no problem....any ideas or things to check?? Also i am using dayco belts as opposed the the original yammys. would this make a difference. Mr Viper or Turk??
 
Check the easiest stuff 1st. Start with compression check, plugged main jets, clutch bushings. Dayco belt might drop you 2-300 rpm. Could be a chaffed wire, CDI, stator, there is a kazzilion things to start with.

Have checked compression at 130 right across, carbs have been cleaned this this year, clutches have just been rebuilt at a local yammy dealer, everything seemed to work good until i broke the holders for the sliders on the secondary..got a used secondary, all put back together still only 7500 rpms. sled seems to run good at idle, pulls strong through the rpm range just i dont think its high enough..any other ideas??

could this be anything to do with the powervalves, they were cleaned last year but i put on 3200 kms...should i clean them again??

would i have to readjust them if i only pull the 4 screws and remove the tower and valve as one....then clean them and reinstall them
 
No you shouldn't have to readjust if only pulling out 4 screws with unit as a whole. I don't know how well you can clean them though. I always cleaned my valves with them out by themselves and with mineral spirits (to soften up carbon) and a 90* air grinder with scotch brite pad. Have to be careful though on which pad you use and that you work quick, because you hang around in one spot too long and the pad will start take some of the aluminum away.

Well did some work on the sled this wkend...pulled the valves cleaned them up put everything back together....installed an original yammy belt....ran the sled up pulled to 8000 rpms still not as high as id like to see...thought put the stock can back on compared to the hauck one....sled pulls strong to 8400...just wondering if i can change my primary clutching to compensate for this or any other way that i can run the hauck can just love that sound....hope somebody can help.....
 
the sled is telling you your losing power with the aftermarket can!!, thats why the rpm is lower!!!, yes ,you could lighten up the rivets in weights to make up the differance but wouldnt be the smartest thing to do just for sound.
 
i also run the hauck stingers and pulls 8500rpm.. same as with stock can.. dont think thats the problem.
