I just got a team secondary for my 97 Vmax 500xt and what a difference. I is so much smoother accelerating and quicker backshifting I can't believe it, I was using a 48/42 helix adn green spring previously and thought it worked alot better than stock, but this is head and shoulders above that set-up.

Anyone else running one? And what kind of changes if any have you noticed?

You gotta do a side by side comparison to really see if it in fact really is faster. Azz dyno,s are hugely unreliable!

Nice pics

I too am dying to try and install a TEAM secondary on my sled but know nothing on how to tune it, so it has been on the next year project list for some time.

I also noticed you have the NGK high performacne racing wires, did you notice a difference in performance from them?

Have a Team with a 48-34 and a 46-34 helix, red/dark blue spring. Also have an Advantedge R3 roller 49-39 helix with a Yamaha silver spring. Ran them back to back within 15 minutes of each other and couldn't tell any difference and almost think I like the Team clutch better. Hard to say. Both are definitly much better than stock non-roller. These are on a 2001 SRX.

Well there is a story on the NGK wires..... they are Yamaha wires. I noticed last Fall the wires where breaking down and cracking, Soooo.... I decided top change them. I had assumed that the wires simply screw into the coil as many do.... well, they don't. I twisted the factory wire once and snap it broke away from the coil. That is when I learned that Yamaha's coil and wires are one piece. So off to Yammy I went for a new coil and wires. Now, I had already bought the ngk wires, which come with a new NGK boot and really nice silicon rubber shielding that slides over the actual wires themselves as protection/insulation. So what I did was use the sheilding and boots from the NGK wire set and gave the actual wires to my Buddy for his XC500SP for spares. So even though you see NGK red wires and boots, underneath they are new stock Yamaha wires. The sled runs much better with the new coil and wires and they were actually pretty cheap at about $50 canadian from the dealer.

I too was looking into those wires and came to the conclusion that if I was going to use them, then id have to put in these NGK cable splicers because the coil and wires are one peice. Plus, im not sure if theyd work cuz mine is a fanny and they have to have the rubber gromet fitting around them and have a low profile.

Still, really want that TEAM secondary but want to see if anyone has done it on a phazer yet.

In my 97' 700SX at least, the coils and wires are not one piece. The wires were epoxied to the coil but they actually pulled out pretty easily. There is wire that sticks out of the coil that pushes into the spark plug wire. The plug caps have threaded connector that screws into the other end. To put new wires into the coils you just need to push them on the coils and use some epoxy to seal them up.
