Hello Everyone,
I'm hoping I can get some help w/ weight transfer on my 03' Viper. I've had problems w/ dartiness in the front. This year we put on 7" shapers to help w/ this. I noticed a difference w/ the new shapers but I still had problems. Two weeks ago we adjusted the straps to put more weight on the skies. When we did this we also adjusted the weight transfer. I rode it for the first time last weekend the steering is now great w/ no more dartiness. However I had no weight transfer to the rearend at all. I felt every bump I went over so much that I couldn't even get the skies to toggle over the bumps, w/ each bump the seat was comming up and hitting me in the ***. I also had problems keeping the *** end from sliding allover the trail. At a stop we adjusted the weight transfer again back to stock this was much better but still not great. I know adjustable transfer rods is the way to go but I'm hoping you guy's can give me some advice on how to adjust it for the more aggressive stearing that I love and also have it handle well over the bumps. Looking for all suggestions!!

fixed the colour for ya.
as far as your handling issues, there's a video that explains how to tune the pro-action, it's only worth like $20 from the dealer and it'll really do ALOT better job than anybody on the site can really do. The part number for it is floating around, I'm sure someone will post up with it. My recommendation is to grab the vid, watch thru it and pay attention, it will make an honest to god difference on how much you enjoy riding.
There's very few skids that are as good at the proaction is at some many things, it's not really the best at any, but it's close on alot of them when it's set-up properly.

I'd suggest resetting the limiter straps to were they were before, and setting the spring with zero preload. With the sled in the air, just tighten the spring preload nut so the spring just has a little bit of pressure on it but you can still easily wiggle it by hand.
Then to help out with darting try shimming the skies with a piece of rubber underneath the rear of the spindle mounts to tip the front of the ski up. This will help the skies to cut across old tracks instead of following them, there are probably better instructions for this on this site.

Pro-Actions can be hard to find the right balace, weight transfer isn't their strong point and if you setup the skid to transfer well typically it sucks on the trail.
Good luck with it, I've also heard good things about the Pro-Action setup video.

A set of Simmon's ski's will help a lot on the trail! You can bolt the Simmons on, and that will take care of the handling/darting issue's. Then your free to set the rear skid up for the desired ride/transfer, with out it effecting the front end as much.

I saw that on Ebay but decided not to order it from him. I read a lot of his feedback and a lot of people were complaining about how long it takes to get stuff from that guy. Plus, I asked him how much for shipping to me and he never bothered to reply.
There is a great write up on the Tech Pages section of the site under "Skis and Front Suspension" that gives you another easy option for correcting darting.

set the sled back up the way it was when you liked it but it darted, then, toe the skis out about a 1/4" and give it about 1 degree neg camber, should go away

If you look in the tech forums, there is an extensive write up on the darting problems. Also set up info that should get you going in the right direction
