I was out looking at the sleds I bought (94 V-max's) and I noticed on the one my wife is going to use that the Hy-fax is wore more in the front of the skid just before the rails are totally flat or just at the end of the curviture on them. I want to know if I got a set of the wheels and made some extension shafts and got longer bolts that I could just unbolt the screw at one of the cross shafts and put a spacer then the idler wheel with the longer bolt? Is this a bad idea or is there a special way of doing this with a kit thats better?
Thanks. Oh by the way its snowing at my house now. But not going to get much

The extra wheel kits work the best since the wheels can be placed closer to the bends on the rail.
When i bought my 95 new from Hackers they would not sell the machine to me without first installing A 5" outer rail wheel kit. They were doing this due to the amount of complaints they were get about the very fast slider wear. Back then all they charged me for was the price of the kit, no labor.
I went one step further and installed a 3" wheel kit to the inside of the rails also. The machine now has 4500+ miles on it and the wife is still riding on the first and only set of replacement slides that I installed some 8 years ago.
