Can anyone tell me why in Canada parts are SO much more than across the border? An extruded plastic part I need is $121.99 US in Grand Forks ND, where the same thing from my dealer is $263.00 CAD...
Even with the exchange on the dollar the US part is still equivalent to $150.00 CAD... My dealer still wants 175% more than across the border...
Don't know why were're getting hosed so bad here..
Has anyone from Canada been importing their parts from the US?... Can't keep sending my dealer's kids to private school... Need an alternate plan..
any input would be appreciated..

Im with you brother ! Im tired of paying so much more for parts here in canada.
ive ordered a few times from richmotorsports and still came up on top , just avoid ups shipping because we canadians get ripped off from them.

I second the motion...I think its a crying shame...Even when I've tried
to purchase "Used" parts at the local sled wrecker...the parts are still
marked up higher than the New US item...I can't figure that out...A CDI
box is something like $300 dollars difference...yeeeesh...and I thought
Free trade would help ease things a little...

Look at the Engine Torque Limiter Kit i bought , it cost me $92 dollars,
in the states they go for $39 bucks !

why parts cost more
yamaha canada is separate they run there business separete of usa are responable to make a profit and in canada yamaha snowmobile market is very small. and they have to buy yen almost a hole year in avanced and the canadain $ is so unprdictable but we are getting ripped I have found that all snowmobile parts are way higher hear than the US even polaris, ski-doo, arctic they are all the same so you have to out shop.

Ordering my parts from just across the border now... They are willing to ship USPS to save the rape from UPS... Have had enough of these dealers here in in Canada... I'll wait an extra week or two or three if needed, for non-emergency parts.... It's not so much the extra costs here as it is the combination of costs and attitudes from the dealers.. They seem arrogant because they think you have no where else to go... I'm done now.
