Can you guys please tell me what the best skis are? Me and a friend of mine both want to get new ones but I don't know what to buy. Would I be better off buying an aftermarket brand or upgrading to something newer that Yamaha makes?
Thanks a lot for any help.

c&a's corner great but they follow grooves a bit and the steering effort is high and can get tiring after a day of riding. i really like the 05 and newer yamaha mountain skis. low effort, no darting adjustable ski stance and they corner great! i dont know if you will like how they look though. they are 7" wide!

Id go with either some C&A's or a set of USI's. Personally, I find the quality is greater with the USI's and you wont be dissapointed.

05 saddles mountain skis from Yammi are awesome. I have them on my Venture and man what a difference. The floatation is excellent and effort is no more than the stockers. I haven't tried them on icy trails yet for darting but i can't see it being an issue with the deep keel and the way the carbice is mounted. The carbide is the only thing that you're riding on so if they're setup right there should be no darting. I think the big shovels on the front look really cool.

Thanks for the replies. It kind of makes my decision harder though. I was hoping that everyone would say the same thing so I didn't have to sit here and mull.
I don't know if I really want Simmons, but I only say that since I have read so many good things about both USI and C&A and not much about Simmons.
My friend wanted me to ask you guys about Camoplast skis. He wants to know if anyone here knows anything about them. He's looking to spend less than I am and wants something for around $200.
Thanks.

do you have a nice dealer that will let you try them out? my dealer has a loaner thing where he loans out a set of simmons for you to try. he says the only problem is when people get back. they pay him for the set he loaned...they dont want to have to take them off!! lol! my dealer is selling them black with blue accent for a good price right now too

C & A's...&...Simmons are both very good skis, both Have their good points as well as their bad ones. As each one ALSO IS SET UP DIFFERENTLY.
The C&A's are WAY MORE AGGRESSIVE and really carve corners on Hard Pack.
The Simmons are better in the Powder, and Float On GLARE ICE.
The C & A's are set up with a 1/8 Toe Out
The Simmons are set up Straight or Parallel to each other
BTW.......Run a straight edge along the track out to the skis, take your measurements from the straight edge to the ski. This keeps you straight as far as your Bars / Skis alignment, then measure from ski too ski in the front and then in the back.
ALSO.........you will probably see some darting, should be better than your stock skis......BUT.....you will need to SHIM your skis, no matter who's you buy.

Lots of Very Cool Colors
They seem to have a High Ridge down the middle rather than dredged out where the carbides go. Is this too help Eliminate Darting or ??
They Look alot like the C&A's
TK's for putting them up, as I know I have never seen those before & there are probably others as well.

If you turn over the two skis you will see that the C&A's are a lot like your stock skis.......They have a "V" KEEL ......
....The Simmons are FLAT and WIDE and run totally true when they are set up Parallel to each other......Factory Recomended.
Ever water ski.......They are FLAT & WIDE with dual carbides, you ski with both skis straight or if you toed out your legs; you would want too go out too the left & out too the right at the same time. You would be darting around all over or FACE PLANT PRETTY QUICK. The Simmons also ROTATE from left to right flat, they DO NOT camber over like Normal skis. They transfer weight from one carbide to the other, as you turn them.
GO to Simmons WEB page Please, they have a COOL VIDEO of their skis ROTATING. So you can get a better idea of what I'm saying, as I'm not sure if I explained it well enough.
