SLP triples on 700 sxr

I run the quiets on my 700 (canister type silencer, not the stingers) and run safely to 5 degrees 147.5 straight across, 3 clip on the needles and 45 pilots. Non-ported motor but it does have spacers and a peak head (22 cc domes, probably pretty close to removing one layer from the gasket, but better cooling). I ride 1000-3500 ft with an occasional trip near sea level. Once I get a few more rides in I may try to squeeze another jet size or two as my wash looks to be a little on the rich size.

I would say start with SLP's recommendations and go from there depending on what the plugs and wash look like. I have found their starting specs to be very safe with Polaris stuff.

same sled same pipes running everything the same as you have listed but i run 50 mains and my needles are at stock setting going to raise them one notch btw i realy like the way the sled runs

Same pipes. I ran 147.5 across the board, 55 pilots, Q4s across the board and got her to spin at 8900. Stock sprins in primary and secondary. Can't remember the exact rivet in the 8CR's. I know I left the tip open. This was at 2000ft. It was working too good and I had a major crash and trashed the pipes beyond repair. Rest of the sled was salvageable. I am now thinking about a set of ceramic coated PI end dumps that a friend has F/S. Very loud but a way better pipe for this motor.

anyone got any input on these pipes? 147.5 mains and 2 turns on the fuel screws is all slp says. already have head mod
hmmm, thats strange ..my slp specs state 1 1/2 turns on fuel screws. also mine runs betr at 8900-9200 rpm, they claim 8700, but i lose power at that rpm! Im runnin 8ca's w/ alum. rvts in both holes.

CORRECTION... yeah they did say 1.5 turns not two. They were already set at a turn and a half so all i did was put 147.5's straight across but haven't had a chance to run it yet. i got everything put together and put my sled up on its side and the w arm was broken.

HERE ARE THE TUNING SPECS THAT S L P HAS :
0 to 5000'
primary wieght :8cr 13.3 mm rivet insde hole( when running 8dn belt add a small steel rivet to outer hole)
primary spring:w s w
sec. spring:green
sec. cam :45 degrees
Gearing : 22/40
carb tune

pilot : stock
Needles :stock
needlejet :stock
slide : stock
fuel screws :1.5 turns out
Air jet : 1.0 main jet 0 to + 20 degrees:147.5 at 0 to 2000 ele.

running rpm is 8800 to 9100 rpm,
use 91 octane or higher,
if self is removed from airbox
,increase mains one size
below zero ,raise needles one pos.

Hey Taylzz, when you say the PI end dumps are very loud could you clarify that some more. Louder than stock for sure but how much louder compared to other pipes. Would you say they are obnoxious, I don't want something that can be heard three valleys over. Also how do pipes affect gas mileage from your experience.

In my experience pipes do effect gas milage but not a great deal If you have everything clutched properly. As for the loundness of the PI end dumps. I don't think three valleys away but maybe 1. They definitely have a roar to them.
