What should one of these read on a stock motor? I've read all the posts about them having low compression due to the stock thick headgasket but what should the numbers actually be? My friends is reading 90 on one and 95 on the other. Is that too low? Do you think it needs rings or is it normal for these to read this low? I know the gauge is good because it's brand new and it's a Craftsman. I used it to check the compression on mine and all my cylinders read about the same using this gauge (125).
What is the proper way to check the compression? Should the motor be cold? We checked it cold with the plugs out with the throttle wide open.
Thanks for the help.
