so i went to the dealer yesterday and found out yamaha change there 2 storke oil to yamah 2-s semisynthetic. Is this stuff good anyone know anything about it.

I have 2 gal of it I would give you! I run Amsoil use the Yamalube in the leaf blower weed eater! Bought yamahalube before I knew any better,Too much $$$$ in a sled not to run pure synthetic! There is "0" negatives to synthetic!

i even braught it to the parts counter and they said its totally diff, i have to different jugs right in front of me.
Keep in mind im in canada so maybe it just took a while to get here.

Yamaha makes ( or made) standard Yamalube oil and Yamalube R (synthetic) in the black container.
Are you saying the left the R and changed the stock Yamalube to a partial?
P.S. jaysV-MaxSx700canada – you going to pop over to Hull today (15th) to take a look at the new sleds? The address is on the Yamaha Ca. web site. My son happens to be there for the week and is going to have a look.

Didnt know there was any changes recently besides the packaging? I have quart bottles of Yamalube I carry on the sleds "just in case", they were put there (in quart bottle holders under the hood) back in December of 2000. They both say "2-S" and "semi-synthetic". The gallon's I have are from two years ago and they say the same thing, I just looked at a gallon jug this past weekend at Hackers, they say the samething just that the bottles are shorter and wider......
BTW - I spoke to two techs at Hackers, one's been around for over twenty years. They both said and agreed that unless your running some extreme mods that Yamalube is all you'll ever need in a stock (two cycle) sled. They went on to say that not that synthetics are bad, just that its not really nesc to run high dollar two stroke oils in stock sleds.....
I used to use the "R" but that was when I pre-mixed gas for the drag sleds. I dont know that "R" is recommended for injection systems?

Yamalube 2 changed to 2-s in 1995. That was when I first started working at Four seasons Yamaha in Lansing,MI ....I remember because we had a few quarts of the "old" yamalube 2 when I brought a new case of the 2-s home, my dad looked at it and said "what the heck is that-will it mix with the old stuff??"- I had to ask-and yamaha tech. said "yes". The 2-s promised lower smoke,better lubrication--yada yada... If anyone cares???

Yeah-I remember my dads 88' phazer-when we would start it up first thing in the morning-WOW!! It would always have ALOT of 2-stroke smoke!!-but just that sled-AND- it didn't seem to use alot of oil???? That was an awesome sled-that 88' phazer....

ya was only able to get the yamalube 2 before now finally 2-s, the othere stuff was like mollassis, in minus 30 the 2-S is about twice as thin as shell ultra synthetic.
