Sounds dumb but I carry a spare trailer hub complete with bearings. Had one blow on me before and almost had to leave the trailer on the side of the road. This might not be for eveyone though.

You can get a trail permit at any dealer, most Walmarts, Meijers stores... $25 for residents... not sure if it's any different for non-residents.
There are SEVERAL dealers in the Gaylord area. And a Walmart.

Cost of trail permits are the same for out of staters. You don't have to display your KY numbers but you have to display your current sticker on the sled. Be sure to take you registration and insurance card with you.
Permits are $25.00 for everyone. Enjoy the trip.

If you're staying at that Broke Back place, sounds like you're gonna need a good supply of KY. If your buddy is the one that wants to stay there, you might want some No-Doze and make sure you sleep on your back!

I have the reg but insurance? I looked all over the Mi gov page it does not say I have to carry insurance! I Tried to check into insurance once but Kentucky is a title state! I cannot even reg here! This place used to be a dumping ground for stolen cars, etc.. so if you do not have a title it does not get reg in KY!bluehammer said:Cost of trail permits are the same for out of staters. if it already hasn't been covered, a trail map(no brainer)-- if you don't know the area- or a GPS if you're into them
