no, if you are doing it by feel then the valves should be in the full open position, that way they will be flush with the top of the exhaust port. When closed, the close off some of the exhaust port.

Sorry to jump in here guys but just cleaned and adjusted mine using feel. It's all back together now and it's puking fuel & oil mixture on my exhaust manifolds... what am I forgeting? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

False alarm... just the choke. All ok except the stock 800 doo that is whipping on the lake. Time to clutch.

I cleaned and adjusted the valves on my bb last night. Idled down to 900rpm, killed the motor and marked the servo. Pulled the pipes and manifolds, all three had some cable stretch. Adjusted them flush with the top of exhaust port and Im good to go. On a side note, I use seafoam in everyother tank of fuel and my powervalves dont really need cleaning...ever....although I still check them. Carbs are always clean too, great stuff, I put it in everything.
