Going to extend my 01' srx to a 136". What exactly do I need to do. I know the basics, .........tunnel extension, rail extension, and of course the track. But I'm sure theres gonna be more to it than that. Also I have a 121" expert if that makes a difference. Any help would be appreciated.
 
I want to do the same to my sx this summer.....and put a ripsaw.....let me know if you get any good info......Where do you ride.....?

actually you pretty much summed it up. new hyfax is all i can think of that you missed, maybe drop a tooth on top too!
 
streched my xt 700 and add a ripsaw 1 tooth of the top crazy difference on and of trail never going back to 121
 
not sure if they make extensions for the expert, you may need new rails. I imagine the tunnel extension moves the cooler back, so you'll need longer hoses too.

they do make extensions, i think you have to get them from an ad boivin dealer though.
 
I want to go to a 136 on an older sled and was going to weld the rear part of another set of rails to the originals. Some do it by just moving the wheels back and keeping the rails the original length. Are there pros and cons to doing it either way? I would think that the rear part of the slides would wear quickly if the rails are not extended.
 
Every sled I have 136'ed has gone back to the stock gearing. The few that have gone to the 2" track used 8 tooth drivers tho. Small clutching changes have been needed as well. Hyfax wear is 100% dependant on snow conditions, not on track length. Example. My 162 wears about the same as my dad's 136 in the same conditions.
 
I was wondering about the hyfax wearing when moving the wheels back only, versus extending the rails also.
