I like that they will clobber the market with a flood of rev owners getting on board with the phazer. good job there and with the motor. now, would I buy one of the ugliest sleds on the planet?? hells no. it may ride well etc, but I dont see those conditions. ever. I am more of an apex guy. suits my riding. I am glad they have real windshields on the GT's now. I am glad the have GT's (plural) now. I think they expanded the lineup nicely and filled the ditch pickle gap and gave more options in the models. although it is NOT a sled I would buy, I am glad they are filling more needs with the new phazer. I am not bashing the phazer or those that ride like that, it just isnt me. this pic should tell you why
this was last thursday morning

I like the lineup but I think Yamaha should have a 120-130 HP sled in the new FX chassis along with the 80 HP Phazer. Who knows maybe that is in the plans for next year. I read something on the website about Push button reverse. Is this fully electronic reverse or just mechanical reverse with a button instead of a lever??

I'm getting used to them already. Like anything new it takes sometime to wear on ya! Would I buy one? No, not for me personally but, my kids on the other hand would love one. Now here is the part I do like about the NEW platform...real rider forward ergos, 16" of rear travel, new FX chassis, electronic reverse, two (2) cylinder four (4) stroke, fuel injected and well under 500 pounds. Those all sound real good and with the Vector/Rage in it's third season for 07 that line is gonna get a major facelift for 08. Remember 3 years and out for all models. So I'm banking on 08 for the sled of my dreams. Basically this platform in a conventional body and a turbo with 125 - 140 HP.
Oh, just a slightly larger fuel tank too! Like 13/14 gallons so I only have too fuel up once a day....lol! I see much bigger things coming from team blue. We have seen just a glimpse of what's coming. Bring it on Yamaha you have a very faithful following that only gets larger and stronger everyday.

that looks like teh state high way that runs threw my town when its starts snowing never mind the trails. take that take 1/8th of its width and throw some 3 foot deep mogals.
the revers is prolly a servo that shifts the gears.

I disagree... most REV owners still want HP. Plus how much better is the new phazer over a REV 550X ?

thats why they came out with teh mach Z alot of teh skidoo owners i know, not making a generalization, have small penis syndrome. well atleast its the way it is around here one kid is 135 lbs in teh trails my sxr is too much for and he has a Mach z. its just a tad too much for around her about 100 lbs and 50 hp too much.

What's up with that
The new look is kinda goofy looking to me. The price on the Apex's is getting to unrealistic. I would have to make payments of $273/month for 84 months to own one. I don't think so. Will keep my SX and look for a used SRX or possibly an RX1 in good shape. They will be much cheaper and still can hit those hi speeds with them. For the short season, and who knows, with the lack of snow every year you have to be crazy to put out that kind of cash.Could take a nice vacation or two instead and llay on the beach and watch them 2 legged machines wiz on by. LOL

I think the Phazers look like they would be a blast to ride, but they look like you would freeze if the temps are below 20 deg. You can ride a conventional sled at -10 deg and be comfy. Try riding a street bike at 30 deg. It's freakin cold! I don't think the new Phazer could be a good choice if you just have 1 sled. It would be a cool 2nd machine for playing around with. But when you can have a season like this one, it's hard to justify the cost of 1 sled, never mind 2. I'd love to try one out though - looks fun!

I think Yamaha hit the target they were aiming at, but it is not a sled for me. I think they will be a great ditchbanger/snox sled but not a good long distance cruiser. Bet they are fun to ride, but I will stick with my Attak. The Attak GT is a nice option, but the price is really getting up there.

What 2007 phazer FX
What were they thinking? Its a good frame and suspenstion, But Its lacking in many areas. If the sled is an off trail sled why is there not a 1.25 track not a 1 inch. Look what size track is on other brands they got the Idea. They know what the buyer wants Traction! Traction!
-Another thing putting a speedo on top of the handle bars is !$@* If I am standing you try to look stright down with a helmet on. I am not going to look down. Incorporate the speendo into to head light so I can see it. Also If the sled rolles over because it is a off trail, jumping sled with you know it will happen. Its is no cheap fix. $$$
- The motor is ok good for young beginner riders. But make a bigger motor for older riders. The 3 cyl 120 Hp motor looks like it could fit. or make a big bore light weight 2 cyl motor.
-Its the 2007 Phazer FX is ok but needs help.

I would think the tq of the 4 stroke with FI would be enough to woo some rev riders. for the guys riding revs, the yamaha is seriously more racy. and if yamaha is even CLOSE with the weight estimates, it is a lot lighter than the rev. the only real LIGHT sled out there is teh firecat. this will sell a lot, just not to trail riders like me. you saw the pic, would you want one if you rode my trails??? lol!

Predictable progress..
80 Horse A joke. Letdown. All the hype for 80 hp. The sled mite be good but can you see a 200 # guy with 80 horse. Do they come with a slow moving vehicle emblom?
the older phazers had less hp butt still are a fun sled

80 horse is fine for a ditchbanger. light weight, quick backshifting and good torque are what you need. is it the sled for me? no, i like lots of power, sharp cornering and a comfy ride for longer mileage days! i have a ditchbanger (03 pro x 700, for sale!) and its fun for a while, but it wears you out and you come back sore and tired!MS-6 said:80 Horse A joke. I was at the show before 2PM and out of there by 3PM. Generally I already knew a bit about the new Phazer from what I heard from contacts. It's ugly, but kind of innovative.....just not for me. I was more interested in the bigger iron. I was dissapointed for the fact everyone was saying WAIT for 2007....it's really going to be big. I didn't see much that intersted me. Yes I do like the APEX's, but the $$$ is getting outrageous. They really didn't change much other than options and colors. I just can't justify it for the miles I ride each year with so little snow around here. For what I saw ,I'd rather find a 2006 APEX someone needed to get out from under at a good price. Also ,I thought they'd fuel inject at least one 120HP Vector motored sled...?? ONE THING I'LL SAY. BUNNY IS HOT IN THE DVD. CAN'T ARGUE THAT.

You won't have a problem finding leftovers next season. One of the bigger, better priced dealerships where I ride told they have 300 plus sleds in stock right now. They are www.peacockltd.com They are in Baldwin MI. I couldn't believe that number is really high this late in the season. Most of my riding is done at 30-50 in the trails so 80 HP is just fine. Personally people are to fixated on HP numbers. Is it a lake racer no. It is purpose built sled that was designed to shock the industry. And from what I have been reading it has done just what yamaha wanted.

The REV 550X is 430lbs... That's almost 40lbs lighter than the phazer.
