What do you think? 07 Sleds

Obviously this sled is not for everyone. Many people are complainign about the 80hp, when the first Phazer came out in 84? it probably had 1/2 that power. I was 8yr's old, rode infront of my dad and we rode it all day long 100+ miles per day and had a great time. Like any motor vehicle the additional power / speed relationship is not linear . Where going from 40->50 hp may take you from a top speed of 50 -> 60or 65 adding the same 10hp to a 100hp may only increase your speed 3-5 mph. I agree it is fun to shoot across a lake at 100+, but what I find more important is the suspension and handling. I would hope the torque of the engine will really pull it through the corners.

Bottom line is this sled will likely do 80+ mph, may take a bit to get there but you still have some speed. You are also spending 2-3 grand less than the big sleds. For someone like me who only gets to ride 3 or 4 times a year, doesn't need to be the first one across the lake and doesn't want to spend $10,000 on a sled this may really fit me.
 
Last year a lot people were complaining about the lack of an entry sled. I think the simplicity is best for a younger person. I remember having a 2stroke dirt bike and having to check the oil and crap. My buddy had a XR 75 and all he had to do was start it. Only thing a kid will have to do is throw in gas and go. This sled reminds me more of a 4 wheeler, not only because of looks.. But it's just plain simple.. You could just take it around where ever you want, through the woods. I wouldn't feel bad paying 7k for this and not putting 3000 miles a year on it. Most of my family in the UP don't have sleds becaue of the price, this might change things... ;)!
 
i am vary impressed with the new phazer lightwight 80 hp thats good.
i had an old phazer had less power and i had it going 95 mph across the lake
so i think this one will be alot faster then the old one. plus being a 4-stroke you know there will be turbos and and stuff for it soon :yrules: :4STroke:
 
im 27 owned sx 700 and still have my 500 sxr and 02 viper and this is the kind of sled ive really been waiting for from yamaha, something you can jump without bending a trailing arm. ;)!

It looks like a sno scoot on steroids, Uglist's thing I ever saw on snow! The phazer anyway. The other models are awesome.
 
new designs are always tought to get used to. Rember when the Phazer was first introduced in '84? I was 14 yrs old and thought it was the Hottest looking thing around. But that new 07 phazer is super UGLY in my eyes
 
how bout those prices on the apex gt guess all the people who wouldn't buy mine for 9500 because they said it was over priced are wishing they bought it now.if 2006 apex gt owners are smart the will raise their prices back to what we were asking and not give them away.to all the people who said i over priced mine go buy a 2007 for 5000 more than the 2006 price and you all can bite me for saying i over priced mine.it is still for sale but no longer at 9500 considering 2007 are going for 15000 plus
 
I paid less than $9,500 for my new 06 GT. You couldn't expect people to fork out more money for your used one than a brand new one! Good luck and take it to the classified section please.
 
I'm keepin my two 03 viper ER's. The only difference on the attak and the attak gt is shocks and it's $1,000 more? Not worth shelling out that kind of cash when each of mine has less than 1,500 miles in 3 years.

Oh well, hopefully some people will have fun with the new phazers though.
 
Okay, so what's the bet on when the first turbo kit for the phazer is announced?
 
I can't believe all the guys liking the Phazer soooo much. That thing is friggin ugly as sin. I remember a lot of you complaining that the Rev sat tooo forward. Well, your on this things handlebars. so ugly. If they start making the other models like this in the years to come....bye, bye.
 
I would order a Phazer Mountain tomorrow if it had some more under the hood. I am just struggling with the whole 80hp thing. Its too bad because I like the rest of the sled. my .02

Yamaha nows what is coming out 5 years in advance. They knew that this Phazer was coming out five years ago.
 
but is there room under that minimal body work for a turbo or SC?????

plus can the little twin take it????

it will be an 07 Attak for me.....

maybe a phazer fx for the kids in a couple years.... so dad can play on that little thing too....
