the apex gt lists on the site for $11,199. and has a 3 year warranty now. I like that they brought that back for us

Just 4psi of boost would get it above 100hp, 8psi for 120hp. Looks like there is plenty of room upfront for an intercooler and such. As for the "Rev550X" being lighter, its FAN COOLED, thats why. Ride a Fan cooled sled hard, on a warmer day, or in powder and the Power drops off real quick.

Not a big fan at all. Would never trade my srx for a new phazer, but the apex gt now that s a different story.

They're kind of starting to grow on me. When I first saw the Phazer, I thought what h#$^ is that!
I like the Mountain Lite, cool tunnel. Could use more power, and I'm not sure about the 14" track, (could be a trencher).
Some boost would be the ticket, say to about 130 HP or so!
Did you notice the torque sensing link on the rear skid? Seem's the guy's ( myself included) that are putting Cat skid's in Yammies may have started something!

this has been the most exciting line up in my opnion that i can ever remeber. i was only as excited as this once befor and that was with the 2004 line up wich let me down with the venom and the warrior, but i wasnt let down this time the phazer has been what ive been waiting for.

after reading all the replies to this thread i realize that not everyone can be pleased. look at the 1 thing yamaha was missing since 2001. ENTRY level, now there is one and half are B*tching. high performance(apex) covered, trail performance (vector, nytro) covered, entry level (phazer) covered. now all they need is something right at around 100hp to fill the void of the venom.
i say great job yamaha
i love the new phazer. would i buy one? probably not. if i did buy one it would be the phazer mountain lite and put a 1.25 ripsaw on it. now that would be fun.
now what i would buy. the attak gt is what i'm looking for but i can't get past the PRICE! no way would i pay that for something i ride 3 months out of the year. i'll be on the viper again next year, maybe the year after i'll find a nice used attak gt.
OVERALL, very impressed with everything!
ONLY dissapointment, those prices are getting outrageous. however the phazer is priced well.

The new pz is different but they have filled a area that needed to be filled. i will be ordering one i will bet that sled will be a blast to ride.the pz is a fuely so just think pipes- cams-efi mods aftermarket hp could be 100 hp easy.and lots of tourqe. 4 strokes have a great power band. and remember tourqe moves you. hey yamaha great start for whats to come you got my vote.

I'm in love with the new phazer, it is the sled I've been waiting for. A sled perfect for jumping and modding, with a awsome price tag.

Change is always tough for folk's, in a few year's ridder's will say this was the line up that brought yamaha to the top....
The look's are interesting for sure, but when you can throw these thing's around and have a smile it's all good!
I jumped this year to a 4 stroke and am happy as a clam 4 sure
Now going to replace the 02 viper with a new phazer and it will all be good 4 sure. Hey, give'm a chance, i'm sure they will put a smile on you'r mug!

onlyblue said:but is there room under that minimal body work for a turbo or SC?????
plus can the little twin take it????
I'm sure somebody will make it work.
I'd be willing to bet that Yamaha has made this motor more than strong enough to take 120 HP.

it will be an 07 Attak for me.....
maybe a phazer fx for the kids in a couple years.... so dad can play on that little thing too....
Some turbo kits for the apex actually place the turbo underneath in the tunnel and then just have the plumbing going back under the hood into the IC and then to the engine.

Fatman said:I can't believe all the guys liking the Phazer soooo much. That thing is friggin ugly as sin. I remember a lot of you complaining that the Rev sat tooo forward. Well, your on this things handlebars. so ugly. If they start making the other models like this in the years to come....bye, bye.
I agree, not a fan of the way it looks and could never see myself riding any model that looks like this regardless of what its specs are or how well it rides. Form is just as important to me as function. so, I'm superficial, who cares. But I have faith that Yammi will not make all their models look similar to the new FX chasis. If they do, then I'll just keep riding my old iron or upgrade to an RX1, not too worried about it.

i would ride a board with a motor staped to it if it hd teh same specs as the phazer and a yamaha sticker on it and blue. i dont care what it looks liek(even tho i love the new style) aslong as it rides nice and is a yamie.

Just a question, how many guys have a quad that they think is awesome sitting in their garage that has the same front end look ?

Don't start thinking of mods until we find out if the ECU is Re-programmable. If you can't modify the fuel map - then no sense modifying anything else.

well i gotta say i've never been so excited and said to myself WOW when i've seen as sled like I did when i saw the new phazer fx.
i see there's a lot of either love it or hate it out there. me....deposits going down and i'm buying one. i'm 25 and love sleds with muscle, but this sled is gonna be so perfect for the rough trails and hard riding i'm willing to sacrifice some horse...plus all in a nice reliable 4 stroke and the 8 gallon tank is nice! i can save some money in gas!
should get some nice mileage per gallon im sure.
