How much HP does the Raptor 660 and 700 make?
(I'm just wondering if these engines will find their way into the new FX chassis.)
Considering the Yamaha 4-stroke snowmobile engine pattern:
4 cylinder - 3 cylinder - now 2 cylinder - single cylinder next?

High 30s low 40s. I doubt that they will make it into a sled. They are too bulky and HP per cc isnt there.

Ouch, I thought they had more than that. Thanx!

The 450 would be a better choice for a sled.

Ya, quads have real crappy hp compared to a sled. The engines are developed for the conditions that only a quad can face, like mud and water, and warm temps, so theyre kind of de-tuned and built to last. Like that Bombardier 800 is the msot powerful ATV and its only got 60hp. It is also a twin fourstoke like Yam but a V instead of inline, and although it has 300cc on the yam motor, the yam has 20 more hp. Now who can build motors or what!

Raptor 660 low 40 stock, mine is modded and mine is over 50 HP.
they need a srx motor in some kind of rider forward frame design for a sled.
