You got to hand it to yamaha, when was the last time there was this much buzz over a 500. This should have the other brands working overtime. It's good to see yamaha's dedication to their snowmobile division: Rx-1, Apex, Phazer what's next?? It's a great time to be on the blue team.

hopefully next is a 110-120 hp in the same chassis.... wow that would be an ultimate ditch banger..... especially in a 136 version.....

maybe next year.....

nice job yami... should really boost sales for us true blue families out there....

I've brought this up several times the last couple of days, but other than it being a Yamaha and a 4stroke, how is this any better than the REV 550X ? The REV cost less, weighs 20-30lbs less, has more HP, and is probably more comfortable for longer rides. If I were new to the sport, I don't know what would pull me towards the phazer over an entry level REV.

I know I shouldn't say much before riding one, but there seems to be way too much hype for this thing.

Just my .02

the rev may cost less but it is no where near the same quality machine....that is if this machine is like all other yamahas out there in its reliabilty, fit and finish etc.....yamaha has always had it all over the others when it came to quality and dependability IMO

550 fanny pack skiddo Rev wont be able to hold a candle to a 500 liquid, let me tell you. My sled spanked it, and its stock! They might have 70 hp, and that is a very large might, fanny packs dont have alot of hp. Just wait to see how the new sled performs before guessing, altough it is fun to assume with numbers alone. The vids of the phazer looks preety good with big powder wheelies and damn fast acceleration.

My guess is the new phazer will smoke that 550 fanny pack rev, and the likliehood of this is large.

Onlyblue, nice sleds, especially that phazer! I always like seeing them.

If you want a sure way to determine other manufacturer sled quality, you can determine ths by how many bends are in a yamaha rear bumper from pulling them home. Mine is a little worn out already.
