Question for a new seller:
I own a sled bought on Yamaha Financing Credit. I am selling the sled for less than I owe on the Credit Card. Does this have any ties to the sale or the VIN of the sled? Also, its NY state registered. To sell, I simply need to transfer or sign of the registration over to the new owner?
What about selling from NYS to Canada? How does this work?
Thanks for the help...I havent heard the official report on these questions. Much speculation.

just sign it over, yami credit or any credit card for that matter does not hold a lien against what you buy.....
you just need to keep paying.....
as for them taking over the border, i think the buyer has some paperwork and possibly some kind of tax to pay when they bring it home to canada....

they will have to pay a $200 processing fee at the border as well as the gst. and they will have to pay the pst in which ever provience the sled gets registered in
Basically you have two options for payment:
1) Buyer pays you cash, you pay yamaha off (meaning they give you a check and you ADD to that check to pay off yamaha
2) Transfer ownership they continue making payments and your out the payments you already made. Don't know if Yamaha credit will do this but most creditors should transfer the loan to an approved buyer.

Can someone give me the OFFICIAL answer on this. I have gotten different speels from every which way, and I need to sell! My dealer says that yamaha is just a credit card and they have no lien. As well as a Polaris dealer who I know said this. Ive heard on here that this is also true, and Ive heard on here that this is not the case? I called yamaha finance and the lady started talking about Titles and having a lien against the sled......????? There is no title to the sled, I have a NY registration and thats it!
What the F is the deal with this?

No title......no lien....simple. Lady at Yamaha credit probably thinks there is a title.
