02 Viper Pipes

Hey Guys as you can see I am new to the web site but have been reading posts for the last 2 years. I have a question about the pipes for the my 02 Viper :yam: Should I put triple pipes on my sled or not. I have seen some guys with pipes on here have great luck and then some guys have not so great luck. As well which maker seems to be the best Bender, CPR, SLP........
I only have 2500Kms( I work off shore and it is hard to use your sled in West Africa) on my sled and now I would like that little bit of extra HP. Any comments on Reliability, Fuel Mileage, etc would be great.
 
Thanks for the fast reply MR. Sled. Just set up the pipes as they state and every thing should be Ok with regards to reliability, cause I really love the sled and would not want to do any damage. I will be bringing it to my Dealer anyway.

yes, follow the directions that come with the pipes. It can be refined from there. Al Ulmer has run these pipes , he might be able to give them some more feel. ;)!
 
I've been running SLP's on my Viper for a couple of seasons now and really like them. SLP's clutching and jetting charts are very close. If you find that your sled under revs on the bottom and over revs on the top end, after the pipes are on. Try moving weight from the heel to the tip, by changing rivits. If that dosn't do the trick, then you might want to try a set of 8DN weights (Mountain Viper weights) instead of the stock 8EK's.

Thats the main reason I read so much on here, cause I learn so much, great web page guys!!!

I also read on Bender's web page about an Opti Cool Head gasket, is there any need for this mod or what, SLP say no? I already have the rear heat exchanger.

I'm not using the Bender gasket. They designed the gasket for use with their pipes. Bender pipes do run at a different rpm than SLP. The rear exchanger should be enough to keep it cool. However it shouldn't hurt anything if you wanted to run the Bender gasket on a stock or piped Viper.
