ok i just noticed a big chunk is missing out of the outer primary sheeve about 1/4 by3/8 between the set of 2 bolts that holds the cover on. I guess i bottomed out some where it looks like it was hit with a hammer.
Anyway, my buddy has a spare primary from a 2004 rs vector will it fit my 97sx700.

Im gona try it the with the vector setup for fun. Then il swap the spring cover and wieghts. (my weights arnt stock, i shift at 4800 and 9100 so maybe it will be better)
what would happen if i left the vector setup

With the Vector set up you will rev about 7000rpm on a good day.

heres a pic of the damage, i may take you up on your offer, il let you know this week.
Do you think i could just clean up the chip so that it wont crack in the future.
I think i already did about 200kms the way it is.

That moveable shive is ruined. It will further break causing a lot more destruction & possibly taking out a crank seal & totally destroying your motor....your call!

would it work if i machined the same amount off each side
My bud has his machined right there to help cool the clutches & lessen belt dust. It failed & caused mass destruction due to the fact it loses structural integrity. You really wanna save $20 now & spend way more later. Sold my clutch so I ain,t making a sales pitch!
