I'm looking to buy a new used sled in the fall. I'm riding with guys on a ZR 900 and a ZRT 850 with 900 jugs and a MACH Z 800. What sled should I buy to run with these guys? I have a SRX 600. and I need something to keep up with these guys or SMOKE THEM.

Srx is faster, but you'll still need a little help to smoke all of them.

you can ride with them with either sled....the srx will have more top end stock but the suspension has less travel....you could allways buy a viper and buy some used tripple pipes for about 400 us and have about the same HP as the srx.

it's cheaper and easier to make an SRX ride good than it is to make a viper fast. Besides, they don't ride THAT bad if they're set-up properly, and the shorter travel is part of why they have such great legs up top.

just bolt up a used 780 kit to your 600
and add an m10 for the bumps
and add an m10 for the bumps
if you get a m-10 it will kill your top end if your going to racing the 800 and 900"s.

any motor mods will reduce reliability to some degree. if you arent really tune-savvy, I wouldnt get pipes on a viper or a big bore kit ona 600 srx. I think you are on the right track with an 01.02 srx 700. if the ride bothers you long travel it. Junior is sooooooo right about long legging an srx vs piping a viper. srx is a better option

well reliability is an awfully broad term, I mean there's stuff that will give you more power, but make it more susceptible to bad fuel, is that any less reliable? I say no, 'cause if you put shitty fuel in it and it burns down, I blame the guy that got the fuel, not the sled. Some would disagree with me on that, same thigns apply for mods that make it more sensitive to jetting, is it the motors fault that the rider didn't rejet when it turned cold? I gotta say no, but again, not everyone looks at it that way.

any motor mods, in the wrong hands, can result in motor problems and unwanted results. they will never be as easy to operate as a bone stock motor, but a bone stock motor will never perform the way a modded motor will. that a better description??

but in the right hands they can be smoother, more reliable and easier to operate than a stocker.
that said, if you're asking this question, your hands are probably not the right hands.

That's funny you said that. Because we went to the UP and the ZRT850 stuck a piston in the first 10 miles. He is lucky he had a backup sled. That the main drive bearing went out on the next day. He did find parts for his ZRT850 so he was lucky again. I think it's funny you have to bring a backup sled when you ride Arctic Cats.ragerider said:Well lets see your riding with zrt's and zr's I used to own a zrt 600 worst sled I'v ever owned.
