Who made the fastest mph sled?

If we're talking current sleds, I think it would be the Mach Z.

The Mach Z posted the top speed in the quarter mile at the 2004 SnowWeek shootout: 101.34 MPH.

wow just that....i have seen 108 on one 06 mach z in 1400 feet on a small trail and afterwords another 06 do 109 in 1400'......GPS speeds

Funny this thread came up... My buddies were racing with a bunch of guys on the river the other day, posted some great radar runs. The fastest one there was an 06 mach 1000 at 116mph on radar and backed up within .2 mph on GPS with recal function. My buddy drives a 2000 pantera 2-up tripple tripple 1000cc, yes it is the thundercat motor. He posted 111 mpm radar with a 136" roipsaw and around 80-100lbs heavier sled. The mach1 guy said nice try but not today.... (smart ***), we then pointed out that in a lighter chassis with a 121" track the cat would probaly be showing him a tail-light. Ski-Doo boy laughed and said I'd love to see that.... then down the bank of the river showed up another buddy of ours .... you guessed it driving his 00 Thundercat... this sled is dead stock with about 2900 miles on it. We said well now I guess we will find out what will happen, (ski-doo boy got quiet). The Thundercat posed 119.8 and then backed that run up with 120.3 mph, again that is on radar and backed up by a reliable GPS. SKi-Doo buy was now very quiet and we said "nice try, but not today" He left. Please don't interpret this as me being a cat fan, it is junk, but freaking fast junk. SO in Short the fastest STOCK PRODUCTION sled is the Thundercat 1000, by a wide margin.

actually the weight wont have a ton of effect on top-speed, that's mostly an acceleration thing, that bigass ripsaw is what cost him the 9mph

I'm seeing alot of speculation here as to what sled is faster.......and I dont have much to add to it as far as the "cold hard facts" to back it up........I do recall the shoot-out results for 1996 though....the V-max 4 was dead last in just about every category EXCEPT top speed......it smoked the next nearest competitor (Mach-Z) by several MPH.....however managed to post a slower 1/4 mile speed. I dont have the exact numbers in front of me to compare them to the 05-06 Mach 1000's.....or the Thundercats.....I know the first year of the 1000 was supposedly the "fastest" of all the T-cats...they toned the motors down considerably in 99 in an effort to make them more "trail friendly". It's also noteworthy that its difficult to find any "numbers" on the T'cats because they concentrated mainly on shoot-outs with the 800's and not much testing was done with them. I'll do some digging through archives and see if I can find some "real world" numbers....as that's what I am sure the person who started this post was interested in.
