Hi all,
I was up north sledding from Sunday the 12 to Wednesday night. The temperature was a bit above freezing on Wednesday, so I decided to tackle my track studding job. I got 96 Stubboy carbide studs from a guy here on TY. (thanks to this site).
Here are the pics of the job.
Took the seat off, and found that the plywood was rotten. Re-did that at home.
I heard that some guys use old hockey sticks for tunnel protectrs, so I saved myslef some cash there. I had to rivet the protectros in.
Dropped the suspension for easy installation of both protectors and studs.
Here are the studs being put in. This is the pattern I went with, and I think it's a really agressive layout. this is only 12 of the 96 I installed. It took about 6 hours for the whole job. I bought a track drill bit and used white out to mark the sport for drilling. (again saving money)
I spent about 120 Candian on the whole project, and I think that is pretty tough to beat. Heading back up north on Friday to test it out on the trails.
What do you guys think?
