Just came back from a 4 trip in Quebec. The sled ran great the first day, everytime you hit the throttle it would snap to 9000 and stay there as intended. After some hard long riding the engine cut out completely and only idle for 30-40 secs before the throttle would have any effect. At first I thought I popped the pistons, but the wash and plugs were fine. Power came back and keep riding and then it would start idling funny for 45 seconds after slowing down from a hard pull down the trail. checked the plug spark which was weak ( iridium NGK) put in a new set and had a stronger spark but still a little weak. Problem came back with new set of plugs. Then switched to BR9ES which gave a slightly better spark and no engine problems. however the trails did not permit the same long hard riding as the first couple of days. also takes 1-2 pulls to start when hot versus one previously.
Engine has peak head, boost bottle, cpr pipes, roller secondary, jetted by piston wash and EGT (1300-1350 9" from piston).
Is this plugs, ignition problem, or fuel delvery ??? if ignition what could it be and how can I trouble shoot??

stay with the br9es's and see if that solves it. my buddies MXZ 600 would cut out all teh time thought eh had a short or a bad CDI all it was was teh wrong plugs had B8es's in and they didnt werent resisted so it would cause it to cut out.

TORS??? do you have it bypassed?
just follow the two wires coming from carb body ...disconnct and plug them in to each other

by "plug them into eachother" he means the ones that are not coming from the carb body. grrrrrr it is hard to put into words and be specific. i will look and see what color they are tonight sorry.

does this unit typically act up, I have a good Idea of what wires you are talking about. how is the CDI and magneto on the 2000 models???

Good question. I never knew either. Just plug both sides into each other. Then the circuit is closed on carb side and the bar side.

On my 02 viper, after we bypassed it, it solved it immediatly...

first bypass and see if that solves it. If that does solve it, plug it back in and adjust the throttle cable looser to see if it goes away. Most of the time the TORS is just doing what it is supposed to, the throttle cable is just adjusted too tight.
