Raced both on the lake in Haliburton (1/4) mile. Beat both four out of five times. The fifth time they both jumped the starter. That was the only way they could beat me!.

Every time I read these I just want to burn my 780!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was out on LITTLE SAINT GERMAIN lake a week and a half ago and I was'nt even thinking of running MACH Z'S or ZR'S ... I would have had my *** handed to me . I have had a couple of people offer to help me on the forum, and im going to take them up on it as soon as I get more info on my clutch set up. But I would love to see video of these races so I can have HOPE!!!!! that all that is wrong with my SRX is "CLUTCHING"!!!!!!!!! Please don't get me wrong I love to here about our SRX'S kicking some tail but I have'nt seen this happen in all the lake racing I have seen. This is why just one time I would love to see a video of this happening. Keep killing these big guns TRIPLE X!!!!!!!1

sorry to hear that .. sounds strange that your 780 cant take the z and zr.. i know of one 800 srx maybe hauck kit and it pulls like crazy!!! much faster than a stock srx of course! i have beaten 2 mach z 1000 and i have a stock srx. think you need some serious clutching and gearin and youll see big difference!!!

GS, you are going to have to bring your sled over to our shop so we can get it dialed in for you to beat Don. Here is a video of my 700 SRX taking on a couple sleds just like you wanted to hear. I have also taken out a Mach Z (2 infact) countless F7's, Rev 800's, XCR 800's and the list continues without 1 loss against these sleds minus the Mach from a dead stop. We can help tune your sled in to take out Don's F8. No problem.

If you have a Simons CPR 780, Jeff should be able to answer any questions. There are lots of guys on here that run CPR 780's and are very happy with them. My SRX has been trail ported, stock heads, stock pistons with lite wieght pins, V-force reeds, air box mod(empty out with extra slot cut in the top), Tempa-flow, stock carbs pto153.8-center152.5-mag152.5,fuel srew 1 1/2 turns. I clean the powervalves every 1000 kl.
Clutching, Bender orange prim. spring with 8mm shim, 14.5 rollers, stock weights 8DN00 with 4.5 rivet in both holes (8500rpm), Roller-rooster secondary 47-43 helix, green spring 70 degree's. Both clutches are blown out after each ride and taken apart at least once over the season for a thorough cleaning. 8DN drive belt(stock), stock gearing. This is the second winter for my Kimpex Ultimate Traxtion 1 inch staggered lug track with 144,1.08 studs. I am very impressed with this track after all i heard about them being junk. Adjustable control rods and a extra set of small idler wheels at the front bend of the rails. I have a Bender can but i've been running the stock one because of the "noise police". I pop the seals of the jackshaft & drive axle bearings and add grease at the beginning and at the end of the season. The whole sled gets greased after every ride. You have to work at keeping the sled fast once you get it dialed in. I hope some of this helps.

gs438 are you going up to st germain anytime soon?Run the set up I said for the cpr780 kit.

I have a 00' SRX and this weekend one f7 gave me problems at the drags. The only way that I could beat her, yes her was at the light. That f7 pulls like crazy 200 to 300ft out. My SRX is stock except for clutching. I probably can find alittle more if I was to tune some more. I am going to gear it down and try tuning it some more this weekend hopefully. We were only running 500ft and if we both left the line the same time I would get her off the line and then she would pull by me by a quarter to a half a sled length. Of course I am giving up 80lbs rider weight alone to her, not to mention sled weight.

CB Performance

I just had my '02 SRX in at CB Performance for their clutch setup (roller secondary and helix, along with a new track, picks, and their swaybar).

The setup really woke the sled up from stock!!

I will be looking to add their lightweight suspension components in the Fall to shave weight.

Easier to cut lbs on the sled than for me to push back from the feedplate ;)

Seriously, call those guys at CB, they rock; can't say enough good things about that crew!
