Man... had GREAT trails today... but the sled was all over the place. Front was darting, and felt like rear was wagging, even with 192 picks.

Will the shim thing work enough, or do I need something more? Looked at front limiter, looks to be on last hole. Ideas? It's alot of work to drive it right now, and I KNOW it can be a much better sled... thanks.

try the shim mod first(1/4"),,,if you need more drop your limiter straps
a little in front to get some pressure off the skis.

I did the shim thing on the almost unridable 02 VMax my wife drives.... her comment.... "I never thought there was anything wrong with it, it drove just like the snowmobiles I am used to" she was "used to" mid 70's sleds.... I drove the VMax for about half an hour and it scared me so bad I came home and added a 1/4 inch shim... fixed it completly!

her comment now "WOW" "now I can really go fast!" now I am scared she will learn how to hold the throttle to the handle bar....

Any ideas where to get a quick shim? Hardware store? Plastic better? What about steel? If I were to 'jam' them in there, will the rear flap keep it in, at least for temp, or do you have to take the skis off?

Ok... now I understand the darting, but why the wagging? Because of loose snow, a 3/4" track and 192 picks? Im considering going to a 1" with 96 1.080 down the middle... would that be better in trails? I think the previous owner had it set for ice speed, cuz it doesnt hook for crap in snow...
