the only thing that i can think of why the track ratchets with the 8bu set-up is that the clutches shift out hard and put to much power to the track at the start and then the drivers spin and don't grab the track enough.
power to the track is good only if you can effeciently transfer it to the ground.

RE:
THAT IS ACTUALLY A GOOD THERY ON YOUR PART. BUT THATS NOT THE REASON. TRACK RATCHETING IS CAUSED BY EXCESSIVE LIFT OF TRACK OFF OF SURFACE OR BREAKING TRACITION AGAIN CAUSED BY TOO MUCH SKI-LIFT, OR JUST PLAIN RUNNING YOUR TRACK TOO LOOSE WHICH THAT WOULD BE MY GUESS WHAT YOU ARE DOING. TRAIL CARBIDES ARE NOT MAKING YA BITE THAT GOOD. ITS INTRESTING THE HC SET-UP ALSO DID THIS , GRANTED NOT AS MUCH AS THE 8BU BUT NEVERLESS. GOOD TOO SEE ATLEAST YOU WERE APPLYING SOME POWER DOWN WITH MY 8BU SET-UP. 3:16

having the limiters too long and shock stiff will not allow the track to rap the drivers and cause ratchet problems....
