Soo the past weekend we went up our cabin in harrison in the houghton lake area rode all day saterday and on the way back to the cabin around 6 were going acrost a lake me and my brother were racing and i was at 100 and i herd click click click click click ect.. and didnt sound to good to me and then all of a suddin a huge BAnG and then my sled over heated, i threw a stud on both sides on the out sides of the track and the same time.... yeah go figure to good sized holes in the front heat exchanger and it made me get a closer look at the track and its got about 7 studs thrown with big rips soo its shot

so im gonna get a 1.5 inch track :WayCool: when ever i get some money and i no you dont have to change the driver or that but what should i do with the gearing just leave it or change it for the extra lug i mean i really dont care about top end but i would like to race some guys on the lake now and again, the past weekend i couldnt get it to go over 100 i also had some bad barings i dont no if that makes a differece in speed or not... expencive weekend for me :o| :die:

First off you dont need to call it quits just yet. To me it sounds like your track was way too loose. Thats why you tore up your heat exchanger which is probably what happened to most of lugs. Maybe not who knows for sure. Now when you say "ripped track" do you mean that its a big rip and goes to where the sliders run, cause if not just take a torch and cook the holes that the studs came out of, this will make it stronger. This way you can run it the rest of the season till spring. I rode mine a whole season missing a lot of lugs. As for the heat exchanger remove the rear skid and find someone that can weld aluminum and have them seal it up, that is if thats a possibility. Post a pic if you can.

Yeah i might be able to get the rest of the season out of the track ill take some pics of it tomarow. the studs even put a hole threw part of the frame it looks like or not the frame but the other aluminum peace above the heat exchanger, the tracki dont think was loose it didnt skip from a dead stop, what we think happen is wehn the studs was taring threw is was holding on by the peace of flap on the track and it hit it, the pic of the tunnel has stud scratches on it to it looks like its been hitting the tunnel for a long time, do you think from riding agressve and bottoming out the suspention would cause the studds to hit the tunnel? on ruff trails when were hallin you can here my suspention botoming out on some stuff
im only 16 and no one wants to hire me for any jobs around here so i have no money but ill try to have my parents pay for the welding of the exchanger and ill pay them back when i do get a job

I blew studs too man, it sucks, but I never got any damage from it.

That track is super mint, liek it is the ripsaw, but your stud options are very few, if you intend to stud it again.

Good thing I dont have to worry about that on my fanny. Too bad liquids are weak in this way by nature.

Youll get er fixed, then youll feel better

Fastassyamaha, too bad about the sled, but things will look up. My son is 16 and I would hire him in a heart beat. I am a business man, and when I hire people I don't look at their age, I look at the individual, if you ever go to a job interview, and if this job requires physical work, please bring photos of your sled and let your future empoyer look at the photos and let him know how you removed and repaired piece by piece, I guarentee he will be impressed and offer you that position. My son is very handy and loves to work hard, he will have no problems finding a descent job this summer. And so will oyu.

Good luck with the sled.

that sucks :( sorry to hear it man, but things will look up and this will be a learning experience in one way or another :)

Whats the track look like? That would be a quick weld job and depending on the track shape you could be running again very soon.

Yeah the track isnt that bad just ware the studs were it rips stright up to the lugs but ill torch them and us it till the end of the season im taking the studs off the im done with studs atleas on older tacks, i guess i learned to keep checking your track and studs every ride because it wasnt like that when i greased it 2 rides ago... ouh well i cant wait to do some donuts not that ill have my studs off haha :WayCool: i still need to get barings for some bolgies. do any of you guys no how to adjust the suspention for more agressive riding mine really soft and the limiter strapes are all the way out witch i think is for more launch no suspention or somthing what about the big shock?
