When I installed my Aaen pipes and jetted to 50 pilots, 147.5 mains and did the clutches the machine ran hard and great. I thought maybe I was a little lean and changed the needles to 4. It was way to rich at that time I switched to syntheric oil. I put the needles back to 3 but cant get the machine to run like it did before I moved the needles. I have cleaned the carb really well and still does not run right and the sound of the machine is not that snappy tripple pipe sound like it was. Could I be getting too much oil. I also replaced rings at the begining of the season.
HELP!!!
HELP!!!
how many miles on the rings before you went synth?

Aww dude, dont tell me your sled isnt going to be ready.
Also, just thought id mention that I wont be able to make it in, my trailer is snowed in, all my freinds backed out cuz theire polaris broke down again, and the other few are too cheap to come.
In your case, id just switch the plugs for new ones, sounds stupid but bad plugs do eerie things....
Or it could be bad gas as well, or something not seating properly or maybe an air leak from a seal like on your carbs to the airbox or carb to engine. I had this happen to me where the rubber gromit type things that hold the reeds in place came a little loose somehow, despite the blue loctite....
Just check over your thigns liek that, becuase theoretically, this problem shoudnt be happening. Also, is it possible that something inside the carb isnt sitting right or out of place?, like the needle becoming jammed?

Your rings have not seated yet due to the use of synthetic oil would be my guess.
switch back to the cheap stuff for 500 miles or so.
good luck

I'm wondering if your too rich on the low end. I'm running aaens on a 98 700. 147.5 mains, 40 pilots, needles 2.5 on clutch side, 3 on other two, fuel screws 2 turns out, reed spacers. 1500 miles so far, egts temps fine, wash good, and great gas milage.

thanks all the biggest problem was the sythetic oil. I put regular 2 stroke oil and it is running good. Yes I am a little rich on bottom end. I have 50 pilots in there and will go to 47.5.
