I was looking at my sled this weekend and I noticed that the hyfax @ the curved portition on the suspension rails are worn down. I just installed a Maxx Performance 136" cross counrty kit and 136" Ripsaw track(dec 05). Rode the first day @ TUT in Houghton Lake in marginal snow, but rode about 10 - 15 miles stopped and kick snow on the hyfax or I tried to find some powder on the edge of the trail.

Could the hyfax be worn down because the track is to tight, the marginal snow or is there another reason for the hyfax wear?

This site has been a great help in making my decision in long track my sled and have been a help in other small question and help in helping me understanding snowmobiles.

Very common problem with pro action skids. On my MM700 I had to go to the extra wheel kit. I installed it right at the bend. There's a bunch of posts on this topic with tricks others have tried. Just do a search for hyfax or slider wear.

My .02

also keep in mind that it will wear at the bend pretty quick but then will not go much farther for a long time. I think I was at the line the entire season last year.

What Tod said is the key here, Proactions were right to the line then stop if you ride in good snow.
