Just wondering if the brake disc should have any play in it. I can grab it and move it backwards and then forward again, not alot but it will move and then catch. This is on a 97 SX700.

no play, what happens is the keyway wears after a while and gets sloppy, when it gets sloppy enough, it starts to make a clunking sound when traveling at low speeds. You can either buy a aluminum brake hub from bender or just replace the whole thing with a new one. While your at it, you mise well upgrade to a 2001-02 srx or 02-04 viper brake rotor, lighter unit, direct bolt on replacement.
