98' srx 700 with bog!!

I have a 98 SRX 700 that every once in awhile bogs really bad. Its almost as if you hit the kill switch. It seems that once I bring my rpm below 2500 or so it works fine again. I thought it might be the tors so I tried disconnecting it. Still the same problem. I just finished replacing the rings and did the crankseals thinking the seals might have been the problem. Still does it. I'm at a loss.

Yeah, exactly. Its like when you give it some throttle it just wants to die but it will idle.

On a related note... i definitely think it was my throttle cable hanging up, it hasn't done it since i put my riser on and angled the handlebars up...

I thought it might be the tors so I tried disconnecting it. Still the same problem.

Did you just disconnect it or did you plug the wires into each other? Mine did the exact same thing, I bypassed the tors by unhooking the wires where they come off the carb rack and plugging them into each other and it never happened again. I'm relying on the RED BUTTON method for shutdown for now. Good luck, 700

I unhooked the 2 wires coming from the switch by the throttle lever. I plugged them into each other but I didn't plug the 2 wires coming from my wire harness into each other. Maybe I will try this. First I might try adjusting my throttle cable to see if I can get it to work. Thanks for the replies. Thats what makes this site awesome.

you have to plug the 2 wires from your harness together.
