jetting?

Yes first get in there and make sure the carbs are clean, pilots mains and needle jets. Make sure the floats are set to the right height, and check your fuel screw settings.
 
went through carbs, twice-pilots, needles, mains, float height, needle and seat, also pretty much rest of sled-power valves, clutch alignment, whole top end.

question-if jets are plugged or dirty, won't the result be the opposite of what it's doing, wouldn't it run lean? blockage=lean condition?

i think its just an incorrect setting, just not exactly sure what circuit controls idle to 4000 r's.
 
my stock viper would do the same thing. at every trail intersection the thing would rev to engagement before finally coming back to an idle. turned the air screws out from 1 7/8 to 2 1/8 and it took care of it. now with slp pipes on it, i have the air screws out to 2 1/4 with the recomended pilots and that high idle still won't go away. next i'll have to try bigger pilots.

OHHHHHHH, i thought you meant it was rich, loading up means boggy bad throttle response. Reving up on it's own, then it's lean. Turn the fuel screws out for a high idle condition. SORRY i misunderstood.
 
vipertripplexxx, you understood correctly, i meant loading up as in running rich. falls on its face til 4000, you can hear it "gurgling".
