Here's what happened, I don't think any damage was done, but checking...
I had let my machine idle in place for about 15 minutes as i was cleaning off another sled, getting ready to fog the motor and put it away for a while as I have moved away from the north country and not sure if I was going to make it back up for another ride this year. So I washed it and was letting it warm up and dry inside the engine. Once I finished the other sled, I walked back outside to ride it into the garage so I could fog the motor. I gave it some gas and it rode it into the garage, as soon as it got inside, the motor cut off, no bad noise or noticable seizure (as it pulled over right after), but it lost a bunch of coolant because the carb heaters were been turned on and the petcock for the carb heaters on wither side where the coolant hose goes in and out had come off. I think it got hot and the little brass fitting came loose and as soon as i gave it gas, the pressure in the line blew the hose onn and the coolant blew out. Will the elecgtronic engine management system in this engine kill the motor when it detects a coolant loss? I let the engine cool down, (It was definately hot), and it fired right back up, and I fogged the motor and covered it up. Should I be worried about anything? I'm going back up this weekend to ride and ordered a new petcock, so I will replace that., but any tips, or should I be concerned about anything? Or just ride it.
Thanks for listening

na your fine, replace the pet cock, and MAKE sure to check the coolent level in the bottle... fill it to the full line and check it often with that system it will blead itself so just watch the bottle.... ride on

Thanks, does the machine shut itself down when it detects a coolant loss, sort of like a kill switch to prevent damage?

No it doesn't, not sure what caused yours to shut down

if you really want to put yourself at ease just buy a new head gasket not all the expensive drain the coolant pull the head check her out then put the head back on take less than an hour tops then you'll know for sure and make you feel alot better. especially since something caused it to stall. just my two cents

It could have been just loaded up real bad from running so long,,and that little bit of throttle it took to get it inside wasn't enough to clean it out and it just stalled...dunno

if your going to pull the head off, you might want to look into the head gasket mod. its safe and easy

ya forgot to suggest that really wakes it up and helps with throttle response.
