If I wanted to lower engagement what do I have to change. I really like my current setup but I would really like to drop a couple hundred revs on engagement. Current setup is 8AB .85 in the tips and 51/45 helix with green spring @ 60 with O-S-O primary spring. Engagement is now at around 4800 and revs seem to be a bit high for cruising.Fuel consumption also seems to be affected.

yeah that seems high... if you go stock y-g-y it will put you right around 3900 add some engangement shims to get it where you want(if you want it higher)

I was thinking that I needed to change the primary spring but I wasn't sure. I wanted an experienced opinion before I made any changes. I also wanted to know if I would need to change the rivets. And the O-S-O is stock in my machine.

Y-G-Y has more initial preload than O-S-O. You will get higher engagement with Y-G-Y maybe try a O-P-O and removing the .8... might get you somewhere close.

What would be the effect of running more weight in the inner. Would that drop engagement? I was thinking of using 2.4 inner and leaving the tip empty.

Running more weight in the first hole will lower engagement a little, but it will also lower shift rpms a little. Get a different primary with the same total force as the one you have but with lower preload. That will lower your engagment.
