Best year for SRX?

I had a 2000 SRX and from what I have told that year was the best. 01and 02 were slower for some reason.
 
02?

I have an 02 but have read that the quickest was the 01. However, how much quicker than an 02 I can't say; I would have to think that Yamaha would have only went farther in its design for the following season?!

My 98' was faster/quicker than the 00' I had....after the crank was "repaired" following that first year of riding in 98'. I must have bought a lemon of a 2000 SRX-I had electrical gremlins gallore-headlights that would sometimes work/tailights sometime work etc...darn wiring harness!! ONLY drawback to the 98' was the HEADLIGHT...it sucked big time compaired to the 2000(and every other brand sled from 98'-up).When they raised the port timing in the 00'-up SRX's for a little more HP.-I thought the 98'-99's felt like they had a little more bottom end grunt??? I think maybe it was just my sleds because my 98'SRX was " dialed in" and that 00' SRX never felt right-compaired to other people's 00'-02' SRX's???? I don't know-I still beat my buddys 03' RX-1 and another buddys 03' F-7 (sometimes) with my 00'SRX?????? If you get ANY year SRX-check the wiring harness over -GOOD 98'-02'
personally I liked the 01'-02' for looks/graphics

I HAVE 00 SRX AND 02 SRX. 2000 IS A FINE TUNED STOCKER THAT HAULS. SET-UP FOR 660. 02 IS MY ALL AROUND SLED WHICH WORKS GEAT FOR 1/4 + sno-drags. KEEPING THE DCS OFF IS THE KEY, IF YA DO, THESE SLEDS RIP!!. WAY TOO DO THAT IS EITHER 01 JET SPEC OR GOOD FUEL. ALL THE SRX,s were awsome. really can,t go wrong. even my 99 was awsome!! 3:16 (TONY)
