guy i know has an 05 venture (with the 120 motor). he only rides 1-up, and the stock springs are too stiff even on their softest settings (he's about 180 lbs). he did a web search for softer springs and came up with nothing, but i didn't know if you guys knew of a place that provided softer ones for the rear shocks. if so, let me know.

You may want to try the 4-stroke forum. I looked on Yamaha's parts finder and they only had a stiffer spring listed. You don't mention talking to a dealer so maybe try that as well.

I am not sure which suspension the Venture has, I am not too in tune with all the newer stuff, but I would think you would switch to the spring from the same suspension that is used on a 1-up sled. The shock action is probably stiffer on the Venture also. Yamaha may have a chart with spring colors and thier various stiffness. They used to have a seperate suspension setting book that would be helpful for you if they still offer one.

I have an o5 venture with 1000 miles on it and it has a fantastic soft ride set up single with medium setting on rear suspension with 190 lb rider or 140 lb grandson riding single . With a 225 lb single rider sled in 200 miles tug hill only bottomed 2 times . It rides like a caddy compared to my rage . Rich
