well i put my sled in the auto trader a couple weeks ago. got a few calls and some emails about it. so 3 days ago i got and email making me an offer on it with out even seeing it in person. so i emailed them back saying that i would take there offer and gave them my address so that they could come see the sled and finalize the deal. heres where it gets fishey. 2 days ago i get another email from that person saying that he would take the sled. but he lives in the united states and would have a shipping company pick up the sled and that he would send me a check for it. now im starting to think that somethings up. i emailed him back and said that i would only take a certified check before the company picks up the sled and that i want to speak with him on the phone before the deal happens. havent herd from him since. just thought id give you guys a heds

it makes me laugh that they have the balls to try to pull a scam like that, but they don't have the balls to call you on the phone, lol.

Scam, yes!

But I do make offers via emails before any transaction takes place, or even a visit.

I bought a pair of skis the other day this way.
Bid was 75.00 and I emailed the guy and offered 50.00.
He said come see the items and we will negotiate if you like.
I went. I liked, he made me an counteroffer of 60.00 and deal was done.

thanks and happy sledding.....

When I was selling my 2 enticers this fall I must heve received 10 emails like that. I acyally played with one guy. I had actually sold both but went along with his requests. He emailed me back a numbeer of times and I would explain to him I was alittle concerned about scammers out there. He assurred me this was legitimate . My last email to him was that I told him there was abit of a snag and to finish the deal could he email me his phone number. Funny, never heard from him again. Diceman

I have an 87 ski doo formula mx listed locally for cheap and I have gotten the scams constantly. I actually had a few off them give me phone numbers to call and they admitted what countries they were from. #$%&* :Moon:
