Does anybody know how or if the kill switch botton on the throttle block of a 99 MM700 is removed. I broke off the cap of the switch you use to stop the engine. I have another broken throttle block, but the switch button is in tact. Yamaha lists the engine stop switch assy as a seperate part from the throttle block, but i can't figure how to take off the button so the switch assembly will slide out the bottom. I would really like to replace just the switch instead of the whole throttle block which would mean removing (distroying) the grip. Anybody done this? If so how? Thanks

u peel off the sticker on top and theres a screw. that will gee the button off. then u have to take off the trottle lever and the screws in the bottom, then the bottom should pop off and the switch should fall out. its been a while sence ive done it but i dont think theres any thing else then that

Thanks guys!!! I didnt know that there was a removable sticker on the top of the button and a screw under it. Once I took the sticker off it was all cake from there. Thanks again guys, I am so glad I didnt have to replace the throttle block and the grip(which always gets destroyed when you have to take it off).

The grip can be saved. Have removed and reused several of them. Heat it with a heat gun or connect the wires to a battery until it gets hot. Twist and pull and it will slide off without damage.

it doesnt show it there but it does come off. once u take that pice that holds the wires off theres 2 more screws. they put that like that so ull think u cant get it out and buy the whole thing. if u look under neith after u take the pice that holds the wire ull see anotehr 2 screws and one big one that adjust throttle. u take out the 2 small ones not sure if the big one too and the bottom will pop off. then u cna get to the TORS switch and tke kill switch. they need to be able to get them in some how so theres a way to get them out
