I have a question- i took my 1996 Vmax 600 for a hard ride yesterday- all went fine- the sled has 3400 miles on it. Today I started it up and while cold, the water temp light stays on. the thermostat seems to work fine- the engine is not overheating and there is plenty of fluid- and it seems to flow fine after warm-up.

Is there a sensor or something that would keep the light on?

Thanks much!

try moving this to the vmax section,,i just stumbled across it...

What happens if you take the plug off the senser does it still stay lit????

If it blinks, then it might be an "error code" .
It can blink in several different patterns, check the tech section on the site, you will find the codes there.

But, that`s just incase it`s blinking, guess it isn`t since you say it "stays on".
