At 3300 miles the ring must have turned and caught the exhaust port on the mag side, 97 Vmax 600 (2) XTC. The jug is messed up really bad, so is the cylinder and the head from pieces bouncing around after the jug got torn up.
What are my options? Can I sleeve the cylinders? I have read about a "piston update" - was that a Yamaha bulletin that was covered under a warranty of some type? Or am I left to fend for myself on this one?
Where is the cheapest place to get a new jug and piston?
The head is nicked up, is this salvageable my polishing the nicks and scoring out or do I need a new head also?
