600sx Seems to have lost a cyl. at idle,ideas???

I have a 97' 600sx.Put on 75miles fri. night ran great.Pull in to park for the night it only will idle on 1 cyl.The next morn. change plug still nothing,pull plug cap and try one from a srx no better.Then it ran, proceeded on a 130 mile trip and it continually got worse at the end top end was affected only able to do 60mph.Any ideas where to start?
 
I have the same sled mine only did this because it was snowing so hard I believe the carbs iced up but I was able to cure by turning off & the heat from the engine melted it. the usual ?'s carbs cleaned ,good gas, did you just put gas in (could be bad) plugs brown,black, too clean? do you have spark on both sides? one more thing happend to me once (stupid) I did not get the spark plug cap on just right it never contacted the plug guess it was on crooked but ran like crap!
 
Gas was new friday then 2 tanks on saturday.Plug was black and wet.Could only one side of a coil go out?
A couple times on sat it would all of a sudden run good up near 80mph but then just like that it would run like crap again.
We cut the plug wire a little shorter because the strands were broke but didn't help.It seems eletrical but all connections seem good.
 
Do a compression check on that cyl.

could also be a crank seal,,spray starting fluid around the seals,,if it revs up
that side seal is bad...
